About University of Ibadan The University of Ibadan, popularly known as UI was founded in 1948 and is widely referred to as the first University in Nigeria. The University of Ibadan has its origin from the Yaba College which was founded in 1932. Newsworthy Happenings On May 29, 2017, the management of the school stopped academic activities for Undergraduate Students due to a protest by the student union over the failure of issuing identity cards to students, and an outlaw of electrical appliances in the University. On June 9th it was announced that the school will be reopened on the 20th, but school activities didn't start until the 2nd of July. Weather At The University Of Ibadan The atmosphere at UI is quite serene and calm. The University is located in the Western region of Nigeria, where there are two seasons; the dry and rainy seasons, which come at different times.

About University of Lagos The University of Lagos fondly called Unilag was established on 22nd of October, 1962. The University since its inception has been saddled with the responsibility of intensifying the training of a professional workforce that would bring about rapid change and development to the industrial, economic and political sectors of the nation. About Obafemi Awolowo University Obafemi Awolowo University formerly called the University of Ife is a Federal Government Owned University founded in 1962 and was subsequently renamed Obafemi Awolowo University in 1987 to commemorate the first premier of the Western Region of Nigeria, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. About University of Ilorin The University of Ilorin, also known as Unilorin, was established in 1975. It is a public non-profit educational institution. The University started off with its first set of 200 students in three (3) faculties; Faculty of Arts, Science and Education on a portion of the temporary campus of the Kwara state polytechnic which was the only campus of the University until January 1982 when it moved to a permanent and conducive site due to the influx of more students to the institution. The subjects passed must include a compulsory credit in Mathematics, English, and three other relevant subjects. Candidates must also sit for the compulsory JAMB examination, and must attain the prescribed cut-off mark. In addition, Unilorin conducts screening examination for all candidates at various schedules and the dates will be conveyed back to successful applicants.   Application forms for 2017/2018 academic session are currently closed. It is expected of candidates to fill the application form online and also scan original copies of relevant credentials. A hardcopy of the application form and all supporting documents should be forwarded to the secretary, school of postgraduate studies, and transcripts from institutions, forwarded to the HOD of the department of your choice. All candidates must also possess 5 O’ level credits in English, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects. Candidates for the Master degree program who are graduates of Unilorin or other recognized Universities must possess a minimum of Second Class Lower, and must be applying for programmes in which they had their first degree. Applicants wishing to be admitted into programmes other than their first degree can also be admitted provided they pass the Senate approved qualification examination. About Bowen University Bowen University popularly called BUI is the first Baptist University in the country.
