About Ebonyi State University

EBSU as the University is popularly called was formerly regarded as a University College, until it was raised to a full-fledged multidisciplinary University by the first Civilian Governor of the State, Dr Sam Ominyi Egwu in 1999. Following its upgrade, the University established additional faculties, a School of Postgraduate Studies, a Work and Study Programme (WASP), and a weekend programme for workers who intended to school as well. Across its faculties, EBSU to offer world-class programmes targeted at different levels of education.

The University has also received its own fair share of awards and achievements which include the National award for research and development and an international graduate student research paper award; And seeks to rank among the best citadels of knowledge and learning.

Ebonyi State University Admission Requirements

The University offers admission into undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in almost all of the faculties listed above. Admission requirements across these levels differ considerably. Here are some of them:

Admission Requirements For Undergraduates

It’s important to note that to be considered for admission into the University, you are expected to have the following:

• A minimum of five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE O’LEVEL/NECO/NABTEB or equivalents at no more than two (2) sittings obtained in subjects relevant to the proposed field of study. The 5 credits must compulsorily be in Mathematics, English and 3 other related subjects.

• The minimum cut-off mark in UTME organized by JAMB.

In addition to the above requirements, you are also expected to meet the departmental requirements for your preferred course.

Admission Requirements For Postgraduates

As stated earlier, the University only has provision for postgraduate diploma, masters and PhD programmes across its faculties. A prospective applicant must be a graduate of a recognized University with the following requirements:

• Graduate certificate with verifiable grades and required grade point average.

• Academic transcript from University attended.

• SSCE or equivalent results

• NYSC discharge certificate.

Also, in addition to the requirements above, you are also expected to meet the departmental requirements for your programme of course and preferred course.

Ebonyi State University School Fees

Having an idea of the school fees, at the institution is one step in the right path. The University has released its school fees schedule for undergraduates, for the 2017/2018 academic session. The schedule for indigenes and non-indigenes is as follows:

Indigenes: N88,000

Non Indigenes: N128,000

Students are still required to pay a registration fee of N12,000 for indigenes, and N22,000 for non-indigenes.
