Tonga
The Kingdom of Tonga is a Polynesian kingdom within the South Pacific Ocean consisting of about 170 islands. Many of the islands are uninhabited. It has its capital city in Nuku'alofa. It has a tropical climate and it is known for its warm people and weather. The coconut palm is the most common plant in the country. It is used for a lot of things including making houses, and the nuts are used for drinks and food.
Tonga has a tropical climate and is warm all year round. The hot season from December to April, high humidity from January to March and the cool season from June to August.
Over 98% of the inhabitants of Tonga are Polynesian. The rest are mixed Tongans and Europeans. The official language is Tongan but English is widely spoken in the main towns. The official religion of Tonga is Christianity. The culture of the Tongans has evolved over the centuries with the coming of the British and other European and Western traders. The traditional dress of the Tongans is called 'Ta'ovala'. They are woven waist mats and are commonly worn by the natives. The staple foods of Tonga are fish, pork, chicken, and coconuts. Yams, sweet potatoes, and taro are grown and eaten in the country.
