Top travel advice and how to use them.

Everyone needs advice at one time or the other, and this is more important when you are taking a long trip to an unfamiliar region. Sound and first-hand information or advice will help you find your find as you make your trip and when you land your destinations. One of such best advice is the one you obtain from experienced travellers who’d been to your desired destination, or from local natives who would objectively offer you tips and insights into how to maximise your stay in their town or city. Apart from the fact that your purpose for travelling must be achieved without any hassles, you must also have a place to stay for this to come true and this is where hotels and guest houses come handy.

Go for a cheap and affordable hotel- Hotels could be very costly and expensive in the light of the fact that they are established more for luxury for businessmen than for ordinary lodging or tenement. You must therefore rent a hotel that is cheap and affordable, or if you’d like a guest house that does equally well. You need to have a cheap place to stay because you don’t want to be strapped for cash while away in an unfamiliar place.

Do not be involved in local politics and issues- As a traveller or even tourist, you have no business in the local politics of the people or of your hosts. Do not dabble into what you do not know and understand and it is a lot safer to stay out of trouble by avoiding politics with local peoples. You may not understand the intrigues of their own kind of local politics and you don’t want to be caught in the cross-fire of what you do not fully understand, neither stand to gain from.

Avoid travelling to areas that are prone to violent eruptions of terror- In fact, if you monitor the news and a particular region is always in the news for kidnapping, bombings, suicide bombings, militancy, religious fundamentalists, sabotage, and guerrilla agitations, it is always better to avoid such places altogether unless of course you have arranged for your own armed security with trained local guards. Otherwise it is better to altogether avoid hostile territories.

Get inoculated against common diseases and have your own medicine chest with you- Do not forget to also take out a health insurance plan and a travel insurance plan that protects you in case of health emergencies. If you happen to break down in a region that does not have the medical facilities to handle your health concerns, your insurance plan may involve sending down a plane to extract you back to your home-base or country for better medical attention.
