Uyo Airport is an airport serving Akwa Ibom state as well as Uyo its capital, it is located 15 miles southeast of the capital and 9.9 miles northeast of the river port of Oron. The airport was completed in 2009 and was opened in September of the same year.

There was a second phase of construction in 2012 and included the completion of a maintenance, overhaul, and repair facility, the construction of an international terminal and additional taxiways. There are restaurants and ATMs around the airport.

Motorcycles are restricted to the city limits and tricycles are restricted from operating within a 10-kilometer radius of the city center.
