Katsina Ala River, river in that rises northeast of Bamenda, Camer. It flows 200 miles (320 km) northwest, crossing into eastern Nigeria just north of Gayama and passing the town of Katsina Ala before reaching the Benue river northeast of Abinsi. The river is navigable for 90 miles (145 km) below Katsina Ala.

Katsina Ala River is located at the North-Central region of Nigeria. Thus, it experiences three weather conditions annually. This includes a warm, humid rainy season and a blistering dry season. In between the two, there is a brief interlude of harmattan occasioned by the northeast trade wind, with the main feature of dust haze and dryness. Temperatures can drop to as low as 16 degrees during the harmattan period.
