Nearly 27 years after Nigeria gained her independence, under the rule of Gen Ibrahim Babangida, Akwa Ibom state was formed. It was a great day in the people's history as it brought to an end, their years of struggle for what was tend known as Mainland-Cross River. This year, as Akwa Ibom turns 30, the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Culture and Tourism is saving no expense to ensure?that milestone is celebrated with a bang. The Orange September festival in Uyo, from the 17th to 23rd of September, it?will be six whole days of immeasurable fun. Promising literal a burst of colour and culture. Before you head out to paint Akwa Ibom orange, here are a few ways you can enjoy the week.

1. Go Orange
