Lagos Lagoon

The lagoon lies on the eastern side of the city itself and is encircled by the local road network. It measures over 50 kilometres long and varies in width from 3 to 13 kilometres. The two major urban islands of Lagos in Lagos Lagoon are Lagos Island and Victoria Island. The Lagoon runs alongside the city and stretches out east as far as Epe. It then empties into the Atlantic Ocean at Lagos Harbour. Near to the harbour is a large tract of wetlands where you can find tourist spots in Lagos like the Lekki Conservation Centre.

Visit the centre to see some of the exotic wildlife that inhabits the lagoon including crocodiles, monkeys and hundreds of species of birds.
Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, City Mall are also situated at the waterfront area of Lagos.
