Founded in 1946 by Australian Sydney H. de Kantzow and Roy C. Cathay Pacific has over 100 aircraft?in its passenger carrier fleet composed mainly of Airbus A330, Airbus A350 XWB, and Boeing 777 planes and 21 aircargo planes comprising of ?Boeing 747 400-ERF, Boeing 747 400-BCF and Boeing 747-8F.

Flying with Children and Infants and Support for Pregnant Women on Cathay Pacific

Pregnant Women

It is recommended that?pregnant?passengers?consult?their?treating?doctor?or?midwife?before?planning?a?trip. Pregnant?passengers are also advised to?carry?documentation?stating?the?expected?date?of?delivery?whilst?travelling. Medical clearance from the Cathay Pacific medical team is required prior to travel should a passenger be experiencing any complications during their pregnancy. All Cathay Pacific flight attendants are trained to support pregnant women on board and medical personnel are available on all flights.

Infants/Children

Travelling with an infant, an infant/child ticket is required which is usually calculated from a discount applied to an adult ticket. Babies do not occupy a seat and each parent or guardian can travel with a maximum of two infants only.

Cathay Pacific issues child tickets to minors between the ages of 2 to 12 years with their own seat and baggage allowance.

Unaccompanied Minor Service

Children aged 6-17 years old, travelling alone, or accompanied by someone who isn?t 18 years old yet can be registered child as an unaccompanied minors. Children from six to under 12 years old must be registered as an unaccompanied minor when they travel alone unless accompanied by an adult passenger who is at least 18 years old.

Travelling with Animals on Cathay Pacific

Most pets can join you on board as check-in baggage, but some countries have certain restrictions when it comes to animals on aircrafts. Check that you have the necessary documents required by local government offices. It is also important to check that all airlines participating in your trip have confirmed acceptance of your pet as interline baggage when making reservations to avoid in transit difficulties. Service animals are also welcome for passengers with audio, visual or mobility impairments although this has to be indicated during reservation also.

To enable your pet feel at home on the flight, Cathay Pacific also requires owners to bring their pet's travel container since each pet owner knows what is most comfortable for their animal as such Cathay does not provide this.

Pet owners are required to check-in 3 hours before their flights with all necessary pet ownership and travel documents.

Costs are worked out based on flight zones and costs vary between 10 - 60 USD depending on zones multiplied by the total weight of the pet and its container.
