Flying with Children
Pregnant women
Pregnant women from 36 weeks upwards are usually advised against flying for their own safety. Expectant mothers within the 28th and 34th week of pregnancy consult their gynaecologists for a flights medical clearance.
Infants
Children between older than 7 days but younger than 2 years can sit on the lap of an accompanying adult. An infant can occupy a seat but must have a ticket and sit in an approved car seat for the duration of the flight.
Unaccompanied Minors Service can be booked for children travelling alone.
Flying with Pets
Dogs, cats, domesticated birds, and other pets are carried by the airline. The pets must be placed in comfortable kennels, and possess a valid health and vaccination certificates.
The animals and its container are charged as excess baggage.
Guide dogs accompanying sight/hearing impaired passengers are transported free of charge.
Cargo Delivery
Rwandair offers freight delivery services to destinations across Africa. Space booking for Rwandair cargo services must be made at least 24 hours before direct flights and 48 hours before transiting flights.

Online check-in is available for flights departing from Kigali, Bujumbara, Entebbe, Accra, Lagos, Kamembe, Lusaka, Dubai, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Nairobi, Harare, Mumbai, and London. Present your boarding pass at check-in counter for verification.

A maximum 12kg carrycot containing lightweight articles like bedding, diapers, feeding bottles, and sufficient food may be carried free of charge.
Baggage Restrictions
Dangerous Goods or Hazardous Material not accepted on Rwandair includes explosives, gases, flammable Liquids, Flammable Solids, oxidizing substances and Organic Peroxides, toxic and Infectious substances, radioactive material, corrosives, miscellaneous dangerous substances and articles, including environmentally hazardous substances.
The following items must be checked-in or put in checked-in baggage. Knives (including hunting knives, swords, and pocket knives), scissors, ice-pick, nail clippers, whips, baton, or stun gun, toys guns/gun shaped items, handcuffs, firearms, compressed air and CO2 guns, Workmen's tools, sporting equipment such as baseball/cricket bats, golf clubs, hockey sticks, billiard cues, devices with spillable batteries, aerosols (hair sprays, perfumes, medicines containing alcohol) not exceeding 0.5KG/L per article and 2.0KG/L in total weight and baby strollers.
Lost or damaged Baggage
Passengers should immediately report to a Rwandair representative before leaving the baggage claim area at the arrival airport in case of baggage damage, delay and loss. A file reference number will be given.
