History of Ethiopian Airlines

Ethiopian Airline was founded in December 1945 but began operations in April, 1946. Also known as ?The New Spirit of Africa?, it is fully owned by the Ethiopian government. Core members within the organization include Abadula Gemeda the board chairman, Tewolde Gebremariam, the chief executive officer, and Kassim Geressu, the chief financial officer. Ethiopian Airline is a member of International Air Transport Association (IATA), as well as African Airlines Association (AFRAA). The airline?s headquarters is located at Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa. Ethiopian Airline is the largest airline in Africa and there is little surprise as to how many destinations it serves. Unaccompanied Minor

Children from the age of 5 to 11 years are considered as unaccompanied minors. Escort service is compulsory for unaccompanied minors traveling on a code share flight but optional on Ethiopian Airline flights and is only provided on special requests by guardians. Children under the age of 5 are not allowed to fly alone on the airline. There must be a family member accompanying them.

Flying with Pets on Ethiopian Airline

Pets are allowed on the airline but are only carried in the cabin or baggage compartment. This is dependent of weight and height stipulations made by the airline that should be indicated during reservation.
