by Rejoice Obike/November 27 09:03 AM Last updated on Everyone loves fun, and the best way to do this is to take a trip to a place that offers you different shades of relaxation and comfort. Resorts are a great place to have a good time, vacation and a fun experience, alone or with friends and family. Resorts in Lagos are designed to give leisure travelers a time of their lives, making sure that they maximize the time out from work or business, to relax, enjoy scenic views, great food, amazing spas and other forms of body wellness and rejuvenation. Resorts are wonderful when you want to take time off very busy schedules of working and making money all year around and actually spend said money as well as pamper and spoil yourself in the process.  This why Inagbe Grand Resort is the perfect place  where you and your friends can get away  from the hustle and bustle of Lagos.  Memories are great, but better when created with friends. Filing your life with adventures are things that can last a long time. From bachelor parties to family reunions, group trips are the opportunities to explore the world with the people you love. Although group visits are a time to relax, they also have the potential of being messy, with scheduling, decision-making and sorting out finances ending up being possibly disappointing. But they don?t have to. Find a time which doesn?t clash with your friends? schedules. You need to be flexible in your date.  Think about which date would suit most people in your clique so that everyone can make it. If you find the best time to visit, put these into consideration whether it is the peak season, off-peak season or the shoulder season. Peak season:  It is that time when most visitors visit Inagbe Grand Resort. This period is often during the holidays and is more expensive to visit. Off-Peak Season:  This is that time when most people don?t visit the place, it could be due to the weather and the prices are very affordable during this period. Shoulder season: This is a time between the peak and off-peak. It is one of favorite time to visit, visitors are fewer and costs more affordable . Make a Budget One of the important things when planning a group trip is to know your budget. As a group, you should be able to agree on a budget for your visit. Figure out a maximum spending limit per person that will make everyone happy while also staying realistic. Think about having a group account, that way it is easier for you to track your expenses. Split up responsibilities Divide up trip duties so that one person is not left with all the pressure and stress of planning the group visit. For instance one friend can look for room costs; another can browse for the most affordable ways to get to the Inagbe Grand Resort, while the other can research fun activities and restaurants that everyone will enjoy. Planning the trip this way, puts off hasty decisions that will end up making the entire visit disappointing. My first visit to the La Campagne Tropicana beach resort in Ibeju-Lekki

by Rebecca/November 27 08:01 AM Last updated on I just got back from school after a very long and tiring semester, and I knew I needed a break, no matter how short. La Campagne Tropicana beach resort in Ibeju- Lekki came in handy since it was really close by and my friends had great recommendations about the place. So, on this beautiful Saturday morning, my friends and I decided to head down there.? It was my first time there and I had lots of expectations since my friends had high recommendations as they had been to the resort before. I didn?t want them to jinx the mood though so I told them to chill out with the details they were sharing and allow me to have my own fun. I refused to be told what to take along and told them to leave me to make my own choices and take the blame or glory alone. La Campagne Tropicana is on the same axis with Ijebu Ode, Ogun state. Don?t have it in mind that you are going to Ibeju or Epe axis, you?re going to Ijebu Ode. Once you are within the proximity of the resort, you will know as it is really not hard to find because the layout is beautiful and breathtaking. Upon arrival, we were told the entry fee was 5,000 naira for adults, 3,000 for teens and 1,500 for kids. After payment was made, there was a car made available to transport us from the gate to the beachside and this is because of how big the resort is.  If you would rather bring your own food and drinks into the resort though, it will cost you an extra 1,000 naira. La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort is entwined in the core freshness of nature amongst virgin trees and the lovely view of the gentle romantic reflection of the setting sun upon the calm Atlantic Ocean. The view was amazing and breathtaking. I was impressed with my friends? choice. The well-maintained beach resort showed a true reflection of Africa ?s beauty and culture. It has a Yoruba cultural fuss, which came across to me as enticing. All the staff were dressed in locally made African attires, which seems like a great way of promoting  Nigeria?s culture. All the chalets and streets had mostly Yoruba local names as well. There was the Simi chalet as well as the Kodi, Laba, Oso, Ilerigi, Obieze/ Anago, Ilerimi, Ilerigi.  Have I mentioned that the resort truly looked like the birthplace of African decor? It is the perfect place where anyone would get to experience the beauty of African Interior designs. The resort focused on presenting African hospitality and culture in a cosmopolitan manner. Then there was the amazingly clean beach, lagoon and mangrove forest that made me want to just observe and relax all day long. I had amazing views of snake trees, mangroves, monkeys, squirrels, bats, and various species of birds such as kingfishers, seahawks, egrets, and ducks. The beauty of the scenery, the designs and surroundings, the maintenance, the cultural touch, and palm trees absolutely swept me off my feet. There was a mangrove forest that was just suitable to play or bond with families and team members, go fishing in the lagoon or do nothing but relax on the warm sands on the beach. The resort is definitely top on my list of the most ideal location for honeymoons, corporate retreats, and conferences, family getaways, getaways, destination proposals, and weddings. La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort combines African themed hospitality with modern luxury and it is said to be the best resort in Nigeria. They offer a range of facilities like: 24-hour power supply and fully air-conditioned rooms that I sadly didn't get to enjoya swimming pool that almost made me wish I lived there.a beauty spa and wellness center where I heard offers full-body massages, beauty baths, manicure and pedicure as well as facials. I didn't try it out though, I, unfortunately, didn't go with enough cash.An on-site business center for official or professional use during your stay at the resort is available.A well-equipped fitness and health center with professional gym instructors. The Restaurant and Bar at La Campagne Tropicana offered a variety of local and continental dishes. There were various African drinks and beverages like Zobo and Palm wine. There was also an outdoor recreational and sporting facilities including a tennis court, volleyball court, boat riding, and surfing equipment.Boat cruise, jet ski, kayaking, swimming pool, beach soccer, water volleyball, snooker, horse riding, football, swings, basketball, bicycle ride, table tennis. I'm sure you are wondering how I know all these things. Well, a girl asks a lot of questions because she cannot afford to be caught off guard. Plus I wanted to make sure that the next time I visited the resort, I was financially prepared to spend like it was going to be my very last. My first experience at La Campagne Tropicana beach resort was truly refreshing and exciting though. The place held a lot of charm and I had as much fun as I allowed myself. Looking forward to visiting sometime soon. You can share your experiences as well, I look forward to hearing from you. My experience visiting Atican beach last December

by Rebecca/November 27 07:46 AM Last updated on Last year started out all hectic and just plain frustrating. Everywhere I turned to, there was a task waiting for me and I just kept hoping for a desperate break. So when my friends called me at the end of the year and asked us to vote for a location to hang out, I was ecstatic and determined to ensure the outing was going to be the best time of the year for me. I asked around for reviews about various beaches in Lagos and which one was best suitable to give me the fun of the year. I finally settled for Atican Beach, located Off Abraham Adesanya Estate Road, Okun Ajah Town, Lekki-Ajah, Lagos, Nigeria. It was said to be a delightful private beach with the view of the Atlantic Ocean, located 10 to 15mins from Abraham Adesanya Estate, Ajah on a motorable road.  My friends then decided they wanted somewhere else but the beach, but I was stuck on this one. When we couldn't agree, I decided to give it a try on my own, hoping to come back with loads of reviews and pictures that will make them jealous and wanting to drag me back for their own fun. Because I wanted the best experience ever, I decided to visit on a weekday when I was sure the crowd will be minimal and the guides will be more willing to give their best service. I dressed up on an early Friday morning and drove through Lekki-Epe Expressway (I checked ahead of time to ensure I passed through a route that would not stress me). I got to the entrance in time and paid my N1000 gate fee (if I had waited till a weekend I would have paid the same N1000 because it was a festive month, every other month had the weekday for N500). At the gate, I was informed that if I came in a group of over 50 and above that I could get a discount. I kept that in mind hoping that I enjoyed my day enough to convince my friends into joining me next time. As I walked in, I was asked if I needed a tent to stay and was informed that the smallest one was at the rate of N10,000. Since I was alone, I declined the offer. I kept it in mind though, just in case my friends would be joining me on my next visit. I was also informed that the resort did not allow external refreshments on the premises and if you must bring your food or drinks in, I had to pay a fee of N5000.? I kept all these details in mind and started thinking of how to make them into a very interesting gist for my friends. After the whole gate introduction, I decided to take a tour of the resort first before deciding on what to do as I honestly did not want to end up bored. I noticed they had restaurant and bar Services, a club, barbecue spot, lodging services, live band (which I got to know was a Friday special, luckily for me), and various other fun things for kids, as they were also guaranteed their own fun moments. I liked the fact that the place was not crowded. The ambiance was quiet and peaceful. It felt like a place I could stay at all day if I wanted to think without any disturbance, but I was not there to think but to have fun. It was a super clean beach (not filthy with garbage) and I was happy I didn't allow my friends' refusal to stop me from making the journey down here. I decided to start out with the barbecue; I felt eating heavy would make me too lazy to experience as much fun as I would love. So I headed down to the beach bar and barbecue Spot. There was also a bar ready to take all drink orders. I saw so many drinks it took me a while to decide. From tasty cocktails to spirits, there was something for everyone. I could not afford to get drunk though, but I knew I also needed a bit of alcohol in my system to be able to push myself through the fun. I got this great chicken suya from the stand there and the barbecue fish and pepper soup, as well as the beef and chicken kebabs, which were looking so appealing from afar. Everything could make you salivate! I sat with my chilled bottle of drink and suya while breathing in the fresh ocean, trust me, it was a life I didn't want to leave behind anytime soon.   After that, I decided I was ready to play a bit. So I went horse riding. I had to pay N1,000 to ride a horse. Although I had my heart in my mouth at first because it all felt so strange and terrifying, I eased up to the rhythm with time and I almost didn?t want to stop. Call me a big baby all you want, but horse riding was fun for me. After that, feeling a little tired and tipsy, I decided to just sit and watch the kids playing around. I realized there were various fun places for kids, ranging from the swings they had available to the various other spots where they could just hang out and have fun. There was a playground for children as well, a basketball court, a beach ball court, and a snooker table that adults could borrow. I got hungry around noon and decided it was time to eat. The resort had excellent food and the services provided by the staff at the restaurant were top-notch. Their service there proved that they were concerned about their customers' satisfaction. Though you are not allowed to bring food into the resort, the excellent food available at the beach restaurant was enough to make up for it. By the way, when you visit Atican Beach, you should definitely try the ?small chops?, you?ll love it!  I ate to my heart?s content and almost got tempted to get a lodge -- they did have an amazing lodge I could see and I itched to try their beds since every other thing I tried had been amazing so far. But then I came there to have fun, and sleeping didn?t count as fun, so I sadly did not take up the bed offer. I rather chose to lounge by the beach, hoping I didn?t fall asleep. I didn?t sleep though because I had an amazing time just watching the water waves slapping at the shore. I wished I'd come prepared with extra clothes so I could lose my home training a bit and run into the ocean while also hoping that my "village people" were not on duty at that moment. From the beachside, I moved on to the club just to have a feel of it. Beautiful music was playing and I was captivated. The space could also be rented to host parties and watch great games like football. Membership forms were made available to all as well. But a club is not a place you visit alone and expect to have fun, so I left to find fun somewhere else. I went to the live band area next and had my fill there. I got to listen to a live band without even attending an owambe! The performance was delivered by the in-house live band and they wowed me immensely, I danced to my heart's content and made a resolution there and then that I wanted just a live band at my wedding, whenever that is though. At this point, I knew it was time to head back home, sadly. I am so going back there this December and my friends have promised to come along as well. They said they hoped to have more fun than I did last December. I know it's not a good thing to be stingy -- this is why I've shared how my experience at Atican Beach went last December. Ensure you share your own experience with me as well and remember to take more pictures than I did. By the way, Atican Beach Resort is a great place for private dates with your loved ones as well as corporate events and team-bonding activities. Thank me later! Christmas memories we will never forget as Nigerians.

by Rebecca/November 26 09:56 AM Last updated on No matter how old you get, there is this special feeling that comes with Christmas. It is undeniably exciting and has this pull that everyone can?t help but be attracted to. Christmas in Nigeria is a time to make memories, meet with people and have as much fun to ease you the stress of the entire year. Before the advent of the frequent visit to shopping malls and cinemas in Nigeria, the Christmas period is that special time of the year every Nigerian would not want to miss for anything in the world. As a child, Christmas was the best time of the year where you get to eat, drink, merry and visit places.  This is the time Nigerians get to catch their fun to the fullest without worrying about having to wake up the next morning for work or school. Here are 8 childhood Christmas memories every Nigerian can relate with.  1. Holiday excitement   Apart from the feeling of taking a break from school bells, and office works, the Christmas holiday is a time to spend quality time with family. Especially the ones who do not stay close by. The anticipation that comes with seeing familiar faces that you get to share the years? experience with is always something to look forward to. Various Christmas songs that you only get to remember once in a while pop up in the air from various angles and everyone is in a very hyper mood. The humming of the song ?Holiday is coming, no more ringing bells...? flashes more excitement to the mind.  2. Christmas is a time to get new things The memory of mom going shopping for the children keeps them up even before Christmas comes. The time the promise of a Christmas gift was used to make us behave better till we get them. When your mom had to measure your foot with a broomstick, so as to get your actual shoe size. You are sure of getting new clothes, shoes, underwear, and even jewelry, if you had behaved well. If you are extra lucky, you'd get new things for school at the same time too. 3. Christmas parties Schools always had their end of the year party around Christmas period. They usually combine this with the Christmas carols where you had to put on your white and black uniform and dance to a regular tune like "Silent Night, Jingle Bells, Angels From The Realms Of Glory, 12 Days of Christmas". The Christmas parties gave us the opportunity to show off to our friends those new clothes and shoes mom bought, complete with colored plastic glasses and wristwatches to spark up your look. The feeling of having so many kids to play with and a lot of goody bags to share was magical. We were so excited to visit Santa Claus (Father Christmas) and sing your favorite Christmas songs in his ears to get a special gift.  4. Beautiful hairstyles  Those days, as a little girl, you get to have that opportunity to do an elaborate hairstyle with various colors of rubber or beads. It is Christmas and you can look as extravagant as you like and no one is going to disturb you. The boys will also get a nice haircut. 5. Christmas season in Nigeria is a time of giving  You remember those promise cards that have a list of what you want, the name of the giver and when he or she will pay their pledge? This is the time you get enough gifts, including money from visitors, uncles, aunts while your parents, especially moms keep the money. Most of the time they tend to not keep to their promise but the fun of having someone make a promise to gift you something was always something to look forward to. It was also a period when people felt they needed to give alms and share more with their neighbors. Our mothers will make large quantities of food, especially on Christmas Day and we always looked forward to sharing the meals with other people because it was an avenue to make quick money. Who knows, you might be the one who will go give food to the wealthy neighbors and you get crispy N5, N10 or N20 notes to keep for your effort. 6. Fireworks (banger)  This was very common among Nigerian children during the Christmas period. Even before it was December, people already started selling bangers and local fireworks (light of God - ina Olorun - as it was popularly called). You would have to listen carefully to be certain the next shot was actually not from a gun. Fireworks create a fun-filled atmosphere to compliment the season. Adults too were not left out of the banger fun. Some of them even played dangerous dares with them. You should know that bangers are capable of inflicting ugly injuries and should never be misused. 7. Nigerian special dishes for Christmas celebration  There are so much food and drinks during this season in most families. You get to eat till your stomach says no. The food is special because it is termed Christmas food, usually with lots of chicken and meat. Chicken is a special dish for Christmas and you get to eat it to your satisfaction. White rice and stew is the traditional Christmas meal in Nigeria but the stew is not complete if it isn't made with chicken. Jollof rice is another popular Christmas meal. Moms are something else at Christmas -- you eat and eat and eat till you can no longer take it. 8. Make enough memories for your essay Christmas season is a fun time for children. You don?t want to be left out when writing an essay about how you spent your Christmas holiday as soon as school resumes. This was always the typical resumption essay across schools for the new year. Perhaps that's the reason mom and dad ensure you have the best of the fun. Apart from visiting family members to see your cousins, the Christmas season also allows you to become a tourist to those exciting places you have only heard or read about. 9. The thrill of knowing you get to visit various places.  During the Christmas period, you get the thrill of visiting houses as long as you promise your parents not to eat food from strangers. Then you go to your friends' house and play and eat to your satisfaction till someone from your house catches you eating at your neighbor?s house and goes on to report to your mom. The fear and the thoughts that run through your mind before you get home and then instead of beating you, she surprises you with even more food. Because, well, it's Christmas and moms are different at Christmas! The bake fest will be packed with different activities that celebrate the baking craft of professional and unprofessional bakers in Nigeria. The fest is simply something you won?t want to miss. The History of Baileys Baileys Irish Cream The Baileys? story began in 1973.  Baileys is the world?s first cream liqueur that perfectly blends the aged Irish whiskey together with fresh Irish dairy cream, a hint of cocoa and vanilla. The cream and Irish whiskey from various distilleries are homogenized to form an emulsion with the aid of an emulsifier containing refined vegetable oil. The quantity of other ingredients is not known but they include herbs and sugar. No preservatives are required as the alcohol content preserves the cream. Baileys was created with the idea to make a liqueur that was unapologetically luxurious and delicious. An idea triggered by the thought that ?alcoholic drinks don?t have to taste punishing.? The first version of Bailey?s recipe was created with an original kitchen mixer. It is also the world?s biggest seller, with over 82 million bottles sold worldwide each year. Not only is Baileys the world?s first cream liqueur, but it?s also its favorite. Over the last 40 years, they have sold out around the globe and now cover over three-quarters of the world, and in over 150 countries. Baileys? Irish Cream was created by Gilbeys of Ireland, a division of International Distillers & Vintners. The cream used in the drink comes from Glanbia, an Irish dairy company. Glanbia?s Virginia facility in County Cavan produces a range of fat-filled milk powders and fresh cream. It has been the principal cream supplier to Baileys? Irish Cream Liqueurs for more than thirty years.  The Bake Fest 2019 Bakers ready to create Baileys infused treats Baileys BakeFest is Nigeria?s annual baking festival that unites food lovers with the indulgence of Baileys in the most decadent treats.
