Katsina Airport, also called Umaru Musa Yar'adua Airport, serves Katsina city in Katsina state. Commercial operations began at the airport on 22nd December 1991, after it was commissioned by the Umaru Musa Yar'adua led government. In a bid to honour the former president after his unforeseen passing away, the Katsina Airport was renamed after him. However, because of the difficulty of outsiders to pronounce the name, the airport is more popular by its former name.
In recent years, residents have reported that there has been no sign of commercial aviation activities at the airport. However, the airport is in a good state and private flights land at the airport from time to time.
You can book a flight with just a few clicks by simply visiting an airport check-in site. However, if you have special needs like excess baggage, disabled persons, pets or documents that need to be verified, it is advised that you check-in at the airport counter.
Note: Not all airlines offer online booking services.
Katsina Airport has only one runway. Its surface is made of Asphalt to enhance resistance to shear stress.
