Bacita Airstrip is located in Bacita, near the Bacita Mini Mosque, Kwara state. For years, the community was also called Bacita Sugar because of the presence of the Nigerian Sugar Company. However, the community lost this title when the Nigerian Sugar Company was closed. Since the shutdown of the sugar company, the area has witnessed little development. The community school stopped functioning. It has since been converted into a storehouse for farmers and traders.
Although the community has witnessed a great decline, Bacita retains some great features. It is a serene and peaceful community. People from neighbouring communities travel to enjoy social amenities such as electricity and clean water. Also, Bacita is a major centre for agricultural activities in Edu. Mainly food crops are cultivated here.
