It is the third most popular country in Europe in terms of educational GDP and it is a great location with a low cost of living- it is a little wonder that over 10,000 foreigners travel to Cyprus to study each year.

1. University of Cyprus
The University of Cyprus is one of the top ranking universities in Cyprus and it was founded in the year 1989. In the year 1992, it admitted its first class of 486 students. Since that time, the university has grown and expanded its curriculum. The university has eight faculties which are: faculty of humanities, faculty of pure and applied sciences, faculty of social sciences and education, faculty of economics and management, faculty of engineering, faculty of letters, the medical school and the faculty of graduate studies. 2. University of Nicosia
The University of Nicosia was founded in the year 1980. It is the largest university in Cyprus, it is a for-profit institution located in the town of Nicosia. The university allows enrollment from foreign students so Nigerians can enroll in the university.

3. Eastern Mediterranean University
The Eastern Mediterranean University was established in the year 1979 as a higher-education institution of technology for Turkish Cypriots but was later converted into a state university in the year 1986. The Eastern Mediterranean University is ranked 601 in World University Rankings.

4. The Near East University
The Near East University was founded in the year 1988 and they offer courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. Foreign students are welcome to apply for enrollment.
5. Girne American University
Girne American University was founded in the year 1985 and it is located in Kyrenia- a city in the Northern area of Cyprus. The university has branch campuses in the following location(s); Canterbury, Hong Kong, Chisinau, Istanbul, Colombo, and Washington.
6. Frederick University
Although the Frederick University was established in the year 2007, it is one of the top ranking universities in Cyprus. Frederick University (FU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
7. Cyprus University of Technology
Cyprus University of Technology was founded in the year 2004. Although it is a small university, it is a well-recognized one. Cyprus University of Technology is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large town of Limasso. This 15 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. The admission rate range is 10-20% making this Cypriot higher education organization a most selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.
8. Cyprus International Institute of Management
Cyprus International Institute of Management was founded in the year 1990. The Cyprus International Institute of Management is a European business school with two campuses, one in Nicosia and one in Limassol, Cyprus. The non-profit business school is accredited by the Cyprus Ministry of Education & Culture and the Association of MBAs.
9. European University of Lefke
European University of Lefke was established in the year 1990, the university offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
10. The Cyprus Institute
The Cyprus Institute was established in 2005 but started operations in 2007. It is a non-profit research and education institution with a scientific and technological orientation. The Cyprus Institute is organized around two major complementary academic structures: the college and the research centers.
