Safety concerns are also being addressed, there has been a 52 percent reduction in violence in the last five years.
 
On entry into the country, travelers must declare any amount of $10,000 or its equivalent. Travelers must also declare any amount over $10,000 or its equivalent on exit from the country. There are strict regulations on the import of items such as vehicles, medications, firearms, and business equipment. Stay clear of drug trafficking and drug use.

Basic Travel Requirements for Nigerians visiting Honduras

  • A passport valid at least six months on entry with one blank visa page.
  • Duly completed and signed application form.
  • If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
  • Passport-size photographs taken in white background. Preferably 6cm x 5cm in size, with face forward. Full name and passport number should be written on bottom part of the photo.
  • A money order of US$30.00 is needed for each visa requested. This must be made payable to the consulate of Honduras.

This is the type of visa issued to persons visiting Honduras for tourism purposes. You can also visit family and friends and attend festivals while on this visa. All visitors to Honduras must carry a valid passport. Any traveler in possession of an amount over $10,000 must declare it. Applicants seeking this visa need to submit an invitation letter from a family member or host living in Honduras. This letter should clearly state the address and contact details of the host, as well as the applicant’s relationship with them. It is currently not known if there are any HIV/AIDS entry restrictions for visitors coming to Honduras but applicants are required to submit a proof of yellow fever vaccination. Under Honduran law, children under age 21 who are traveling unaccompanied or with only one parent must have written, notarized permission to travel from the non-traveling parent(s).  During the visa application, you will need to provide proof of sufficient funds to last the duration of your stay. Proof of accommodation or hotel reservation is also required. There are no legal restrictions on same-sex sexual relations or the organization of LGBTI events in Honduras. However, many activists report that crimes committed against the LGBTI community go unpunished. There have also been cases of police harassment of patrons in LGBTI nightclubs. LGBTI travelers should exercise caution, especially when expressing affection in public. The Honduras tourist visa is valid for 90 days and you are advised to exit the country before your visa expires.

This is the type of visa issued to Nigerians traveling to Honduras for business purposes . You will need to provide an invitation letter from the Honduran company you will be visiting. This letter will also contain their detailed address, accompanied with the date and actual purpose of your trip. If the intention is to attend a meeting or seminar, a confirmation or invitation from the conference organizer/institution is required. If you are employed, you will have to present a certificate from your employer stating or allowing your business travel. If you are requesting a Multiple Visa, you will send a letter in which you explain why you are requesting this type of visa. There is no transit visa for Honduras and visitors passing through the country must obtain a tourist visa if required. Pet dogs and cats require a veterinarian health certificate, plus an import permit from the Secretaria de Agricultura y Ganaderia . In addition, dog owners must provide a certificate of vaccination against rabies, distemper and hepatitis. Proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months) is required. Self-employed people may need to submit proof of business registration too. You cannot be gainfully employed while you are in the country with this visa. It must be made clear whether your trip will be sponsored by the employer or the local company. The best time to apply for your Honduras visa is 1 - 2 months before your travel date.
