About University of Lagos The University of Lagos fondly called Unilag was established on 22nd of October, 1962. The University since its inception has been saddled with the responsibility of intensifying the training of a professional workforce that would bring about rapid change and development to the industrial, economic and political sectors of the nation. About Lagos State University Lagos State University popularly called “LASU” is a non-profit public higher institution of learning established in 1983 by the Lagos State Government. It was established to fill the void of the dearth in the education sector as that the time, thereby facilitating the advancement of learning and the establishment of academic excellence. The State University seeks to utilize all resources at its disposal to provide every deserving applicant a chance to further his/her education, instilling in each individual strict principles and the pursuit of truth and character. LASU operates a multi-campus and collegiate system with four fully owned campus located at strategic locations in the state.
