The Obi of Onitsha Palace

Awka Road, Onitsha
The Obi of Onitsha Palace was established in , Built by in .
This is the residence of the traditional ruler and head of the Onitsha Kingdom. Also called 'Ime Obi', it is the site for a lot of festivals and events and a major tourist attraction of the state.

Reason For Loving Place

Located on a large expanse of land easily accessible, its architectural beauty is still a pride of the Kingdom. There is a large outdoor space where people gather during festivals to celebrate with the Obi. A lover of art, the Obi has spared no expense in making the palace an interesting gallery of sorts with statures of past Obis dotting the palace, artworks of cultural importance displayed about, and the palace staff easily recognizable with their garb.
