About The Nigerian Rural Electrification Agency

The Nigerian Rural Electrification Agency was established by Section 88 of the Electric Power Sector Reform Act 2005, and officially inaugurated in March 2006. The agency is charged with facilitating the provision of steady  and reliable power supply at economic rates for residential, commercial, industrial and social activities in the rural areas of the country, promoting private sector participation in grid and off-grid rural development and ensuring active participation from  Government Agencies, Co-operatives and Communities.
