The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria was borne out of many years of campaigning and agitation by Nigerian teachers for the establishment of a regulatory agency to co-ordinate and manage the teaching profession. The Decree 31 of 1993 was then enacted under the federal military government of the time. It was later revised and updated by Act CAP T3 of 2004 the statute under which it has been operating since.Safety
