About The Nigerian Customs Service

The Nigerian Customs Service was first formed in 1891 by the colonial government to account for revenue collection and curb smuggling activities. It has as a result of its unique position within the hub of the international supply chain of goods and services played an increasingly important role in trade facilitation, which is a very important element of the economy. The Nigerian Customs Service ensures the efficient and timely collection of and accounting for revenue, implementation of and advise on Governmental trade and fiscal policies and generation of accurate and precise statistical data on the state of trade in the country.
