About The National Centre for Remote Sensing

The National Centre for Remote Sensing is one of the six departments under the National Space Research and development agency.It is located at National centre for remote sensing Jos Liberty dam, along lamingo golf club, rizek village, Jos East local govt, Plateau State.It is the arm responsible for the remote sensing and all related activities in the nation.It is under the supervision of the Federal ministry of science and technology.

History of The National Centre for Remote Sensing

It was created as part of the six functional departments of the NSRDA in April 1999.

Weather at The National Centre for Remote Sensing

National Centre for Remote Sensing is located at the North-Central region of Nigeria. Thus, it experiences three weather conditions annually.  This includes a warm, humid rainy season and a blistering dry season.  In between the two, there is a brief interlude of harmattan occasioned by the northeast trade wind, with the main feature of dust haze and dryness. Temperatures can drop to as low as 16 degrees during the harmattan period.
