About The National Business and Technical Examinations Board

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board is responsible for conducting examinations leading to the award of all technical, trade and business certificates such as; National Business Certificate, National Technical Certificate , Advanced National Business Certificate, Advanced National Technical Certificate and Modular Trade Certificate. It took over these duties from hitherto conducting bodies such as the Royal Society of Arts, City and Guilds of London and West African Examinations Council. NABTEB also collects and keeps records of assessments in Technical Colleges and Allied Institutions as well as conducts entrance examinations into Technical Colleges and Allied Institutions.

History of The National Business and Technical Examinations Board

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board was established in 1992 after a lengthy evolutionary process which spanned 15 years from 1977 to 1992 in which different government panels were set up to review the structure of public examinations in the Nigerian educational system. The Decree 70 of 1993 established NABTEB as a statutory body.
