About The Standards Organisation of Nigeria

The Lagos main office of The Standards Organisation of Nigeria concerns itself with the administration and conduction of affairs of the many units within the state. It also conducts the main registration and regulation of standard marks and specifications as well as organizes and coordinates the mass inspections which SON has become known for.



History of The Standards Organisation of Nigeria

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria was first conceived by the Enabling Act No. 56 of 1971. It was then fully enabled by The SON Act Cap. S9 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, which has been reviewed by the present SON Act Cap. S9 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
