About The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service

The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service is divided into the Animal veterinary arm which performs health inspections of live animals for both import and export, authenticates international veterinary certificate accompanying imported animals and their products and other preventive functions. There is also a Plant arm which seeks to protect cultivated crops and natural flora from destructive foreign plant pests. It also ensures that agricultural exports meet international standards set by IPPC and WTO/SPS Agreement and specific requirements of countries importing plants and plant products from Nigeria.
