About Kwiambana Forest Reserve  Kwiambana Forest Reserve was submitted the site to UNESCO as a potential World Heritage Center in November 1995 by the Nigerian government. The Kwiambana ruins were built on and around a granite inselberg with two peaks. They were protected by a ditch and a bank between five and seven meters high, topped by a rubble wall. In areas where the wall passes over bare rock, it is built of mud block with loopholes. Around the hillside there are some low free-stone walls. Within the enclosed area are several well-preserved mud structures, and several level sites where buildings may once have stood.The walls were constructed of natural coursed rubble, with alternating layers of stone and subsoil, and have resisted erosion. Kwiambana Forest Reserve is located in Zamfara, Nigeria.

The Kalale pond is a large one and it’s the habitat of several hippopotamuses. Kalale is in the Dangulbi area of Maru Local Government. It is about 120km from Gusau. Hippopotamuses spend most of the day in water and come out at night to feed. This natural behavior has proved to be most unfortunate for the Kalale locals, though, as the Hippos steal food and destroy farms. Safety It is a very safe location but guests are advised not to be to close to the animals. Things to Do Any animal that secretes a natural sunscreen and skin moisturizer has got to be fun to watch.
