A tourist visa is for individuals travelling with the aim of recreation, leisure or tourism.
Slovakia tourist visa is valid for 90 days.
This visa is also issued to those who want to visiting friends or relatives. In this case, the Slovakian host will have to send an invitation letter.
All tourist and transit visa applications are to be submitted at the Swedish embassy in Abuja. This change was effected by 15/04/2014.
Medical insurance having a coverage of at least 30,000 EUR is required. This insurance should be valid for the duration of your trip.
It is necessary to have a return flight reservation proof even if it is temporary. This will prove that the applicant has the incentive of returning to home country at the expiration of the visa.
Without a place to stay in Slovakia, a visa will not be issued. If you will be staying in a hotel, do not use reservations that could be canceled before the visa application process is complete.
A recent bank statement, not older than three months should be submitted. This will let the Consul know that you will be able to cater for yourself during your stay in Slovakia.
Since 01/12/2008, extension of visas have been possible in rare cases. The visa could be extended for a period of 90 days.
Tourism and visits do not justify visa extension as such, you are to exit Slovak republic upon expiration of your visa.

A passport valid for at least 3 months from the visa expiry date.
Schengen or Slovak visa application form, complete and signed.
Parents/ legal gaurdians should sign the form for minors and attach a proof of legal authority over the child.
Passport-size photographs (3 x 3.5cm)
Trip return ticket.
Travel documents( international driving license, vehicle insurance etc) for road travelers.
Accommodation reservation confirmation.
Sufficient funds for the length and purpose of the trip.
Valid travel insurance.
Invitation letter.
Consular interview.
