The capital city of Venezuela is Caracas which is also it’s largest city. Venezuela’s climate is divided into dry and wet seasons spanning from November to June and May to October respectively. Favourable and mild weather conditions make travelling relatively easy across the country. The Mestizo denomination is the largest ethnic group in Venezuela contributing up to 50.3% of the population. Other denominations that make up Venezuela are the White Venezuelans, the Black Venezuelans, the indigenous Venezuelans, the Arab and middle eastern Venezuelans and the Asian Venezuelans.


Majority of the population in Venezuela are Catholics. Catholic Venezuelans make up to 71% of the Venezuelan population while, the remaining 29% consists of Protestants, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Santeria and Maria Lionza. There are over 40 languages spoken by Venezuelans but Spanish is the country’s official language. Air travel would be more ideal to reach popular tourist destinations like Angel Falls and the Amazon region due to distance. Regardless, travelling is also possible by roads however, except the major roads leading to the capital, most Venezuelan roads are bad. There is also availability of rail and water transport only in specific parts of the country.


Travelling to Venezuela can be highly risky due to the political unrest, high crime rate, drug activities, kidnapping and violence in the country. It is advisable to steer clear from Venezuela as a tourist destination. Asides from human-caused dangers, Venezuela suffers from natural disasters such as hurricanes, floods and earthquakes.
