Tourist Visa from Thailand to United States of America
- The United States B visa also called the visitor visa is a non-immigrant visa issued to applicants visiting the country for business and tourism purposes.
- It allows its holder a stay of up to 180 days which can also be extendable.
- Individuals traveling for business would be issued a B1 visa while those traveling for tourism would be given a B2 visa.
- The B1 allows the individual to conduct business, negotiate a contract and sign business deals in the United States.
- The B2 visa is issued to applicants visiting the country for leisure, tourism, visitation, attending events and medical treatments.
- The holder of this B visa cannot study, be employed, receive payment or reside permanently in the United States.
- A completed DS-160 form is the first step to applying for the visa. It is important to apply for the visa in advance to the intended travel date.
- All applicants are to show proof that they have a clean criminal record in their home country.
- Your visa can be denied if the consular officer finds it necessary to deny the issuance of the visa.
- A travel return ticket is required as proof that the applicant would return to Thailand when their visa expires and that they do not intend to take up permanent residence in the country.
- Proof of accommodation or hotel reservations in the country is needed.
- Proof of sufficient financial means to cover your entire duration of stay in the United States must be provided.
- Business applicants are required to show an invitation letter from their partner company in the United States.
- Medical applicants are to present a letter from the clinic in charge of their medical care in Thailand.
- All applicants are required to write a cover letter explaining why they want to visit the United States and why they should be issued a visa.
