Tourist Visa from Niger to Portugal
- This visa is for applicants who wish to travel to Portugal for tourism and sightseeing purposes.
- Persons who wish to visit friends and relatives in the country are also eligible for this visa.
- There are two types of tourist visas: Schengen C-type visa and national D-type visa.
- Schengen C-type visa is valid in Schengen states and it entitles the holder to stay in the territory of all Schengen states and holds a 90-day validity.
- There is also the national D-type visa which is for visitors who intend to stay in the territory of Portugal for at least 91 days, during one or more visits within a half-year period from the date of first entry.
- Travelers are required to provide proof of travel medical insurance with a minimum of 30,000Euros coverage within Portugal and the entire Schengen area.
- Portuguese tourist visa applicants must have at least 53Euros per day to cover their daily expenses for the duration of their whole stay.
- Foreigners are to register with Portuguese Immigration Service within three days of entry into Portugal.
- Failure to comply with this requirement will result in an administrative offense punishable with a fine from €60 to €160.
- A bank statement that shows that the applicant has enough money to cover the cost of their trip to Portugal and daily expenses while still in the country.
- Proof of accommodation must be provided.
- This could be hotel reservations or the address of the invitee.
- Applicants are advised not to make hotel bookings before they are given this visa to avoid paying cancellation fees.
