Tokelau
Tokelau Islands is a dependent territory of New Zealand in the South Pacific Ocean. It consists of three tropical coral atolls, Fakaofo, Atafu and Nukunonu. It has no fixed capital city. Its capital rotates yearly between the three atolls. Tokelau has a tropical climate. It is known for its scenic beauty and amazing weather. It also has a desert island with a five-star hotel and resorts.
Tokelau has a tropical climate with the rainy season between November and March and a dry season between April and September. The best months to travel to Tokelau are from April to October.
Tokelau was home to the Tokelauans before being colonized by England and New Zealand. It is about 64% Tokelauan. The other ethnic groups in the country are the part Tokelauan/Samoan, the Pacific Islander, Tuvaluan, Samoan, part Tokelauan/Tuvaluan and European. The official languages are Tokelauan and English. Christianity is the official religion in the country. The Tokelauan culture is influenced by New Zealand and the inhabitants retain cultural ties with Samoa and Tuvalu. Light clothing should be brought when traveling to Tokelau.
Tokelauan cuisine consists of dishes from surrounding neighbours, New Zealand, and Europe. Shell fish and fish are an important part of the Tokelauan diet. Ota, marinated raw fish is the national dish of the country. Coconuts, breadfruit, sweet potato, papaya, bananas are grown for eating.
