Tourist Visa from Nigeria to Taiwan
- A visitor’s visa is required for tourist visits to Taiwan.
- Taiwan’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends travelers to Taiwan be vaccinated against Hepatitis A.
- Travelers carrying cash of over 100,000 New Taiwan Dollars (TWD) will need to declare it.
- The Taiwan tourist visa is usually valid for 90 days — could be single or multiple entry depending on what the embassy permits.
- If you plan to stay longer than 90 days or you plan to work, you must let the embassy know. You may need a different kind of visa.
- Taiwan lifted its ban on entry, stay, and residence of foreigners living with HIV on February 4, 2015.
- Taiwan generally does not ask you about your HIV status unless you are applying for a resident, visa which requires a health certificate that will indicate whether you are HIV positive or not.
- Please note that penalties for possession, use, sale, or transport of illegal drugs—including marijuana—are severe in Taiwan.
- You will be lucky if you get off on a heavy fine and not bag a long jail sentence.
- Even if marijuana is legal in your home country, Taiwan shows no leniency for medical or recreational marijuana.
- Carrying or shipping marijuana into Taiwan is prosecuted as drug trafficking.
- In summary, you will need to go to the embassy with the following documents:
- A completed & signed visa application form
- 2 passport-size photos taken within 6 months and in white background
- Your valid Nigerian Passport (original & photocopy)
- Return ticket & travel itinerary
- Proof of financial capacity (bank statement)
- You will also need to submit an invitation letter from your host in Taiwan. The letter should include the inviter’s identity document such as Taiwan ID/passport/ARC.
- The cost of this visa for Nigerians is $150.
- If all required documents are ready, the visa will be processed within 7 days.
