Student Visa from Thailand to United States of America
- The United States of America student visa is divided into the F and M visa.
- The F visa is issued to individuals who want to attend University or college, High school, private elementary school, seminary or take a language training program in the United States.
- The M visa is for those who want to attend a vocational or other nonacademic institution.
- You can apply for this visa after you have been enrolled in a SEVP-approved school.
- Then you would be registered for the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) by the school and would be required to pay the SEVIS I-901 fee.
- The school would then issue you a Form I-20 which you would use to apply for your visa at the U.S. embassy. This form must be taken to your interview.
- Students are also required to fill the Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application Form DS-160.
- Individuals who are between the ages of 13 years and younger and 80 years and older are not required to attend an interview.
- Applicants must have a sponsor or other proof of sufficient funds for the duration of their study.
- Proof of accommodation is required. This could be a hostel on-campus or an apartment off-campus.
- After you have been issued a visa, you are to resume within five months to avoid losing your admission status in the country.
- It should be stated clearly on the Form I-20 that students have fully paid for the tuition fee.
- You are required to present the original and copies of your earlier academic documents such as school transcripts with grades, public examination certificates and diplomas during the visa application.
