Medical Visa from Equatorial Guinea to Netherlands

  • The medical is issued to Equatorial Guineans travelling to seek medical treatment.

  • Applicants coming to the Netherlands for medical treatment must apply for a residence permit. 

  • A letter to the Medical Advice Bureau in the Netherlands is needed. This letter should clearly state the nature of the illness, Why treatment elsewhere will be inappropriate and If you are capable of financing the treatment.

  • A letter from your doctor in Equatorial Guinea should be submitted to the embassy. The letter should state the type of ailment and why treatment would be best gotten in the Netherlands.

  • The hospital or doctor in the Netherlands will also need to send a medical attestation confirming the date of appointment as well as their knowledge of your medical situation.

  • Applicants who are employed are to submit a letter from their employer stating the awareness of your leave and duration.

  • Proof of financial sufficiency that covers the medical bills and duration of stay should be submitted.

  • Proof of full or part payment of medical bills should be submitted.

  • If the applicant is a minor, the original birth certificate along with a consent letter from one or both parents should be submitted.

  • Equatorial Guineans on a medical visa are not allowed to work while they are in the country.

  • Visa holders are not allowed to take up permanent residence in the country, but temporary residence is allowed.

  • The applicant has to sign a medical declaration. By signing this declaration, the applicant consents to being involved in any medical research, if necessary.

  • Applicants are expected to leave the country at the expiration of their or completion of their medical treatment.
