Marshall Islands

Majuro is the capital of the Marshall Islands, and is located in the eastern chain of the Marshall Islands. The Islands experiences favourable weather all year round, so it can be enjoyed at any time of the year.

The tropical Marshall Islands have two main seasons, the dry season that lasts from December to April, and the wet season that begins in May and ends in November.

Culture in the Marshall Islands revolves around around family, co-operation and warm hospitality, and is influenced by pre-Western contact and the impact of that contact on its people afterward. The island was named after a British Captain William Marshall, who explored the area with Captain Thomas Gilbert in 1788.

The island is major religious belief in the country is Christianity, and is primarily Protestant, due to the arrival of the American and Hawaiian Protestant missionaries in the 1860s.

The food in the Marshall Islands is typical of the pacific, there is a bounty of fresh fish, coconuts, pandan leaves, bananas, macadamia nuts, cabbage, potatoes, and canned meats.

The official language in Marshall Islands is Marshallese, and English is also common.

Other means of transportation include taxi rides, and government ships are also available as public transport. Marshall Islands is relatively safe and there are very little crime in the country, crimes that occur are no more than petty crimes like vandalism and pickpocketing.

There are many festivals and celebrations in the Marshall Islands like the Marshall Islands Memorial and Nuclear Victims Day - Held on the 1st of March, this celebration is a tribute to the victims of the 1954 Bikini Atoll hydrogen bomb explosion; Liberation Day - Held in Majuro, this marks the liberation of each individual island from Japan during WWII on different days and in their own unique ways; Marshall Islands Constitution Day - Also on the 1st of March, it is held to celebrate the first Marshall Islands constitution signed; Fisherman’s Day - Hosted by Marshalls Billfish club on the first friday of every July, and is an exciting fishing competition where vessels depart in the morning and return in the early evening to have their catches weighed and measured.

• Arno Atoll - Located in the north pacific region of Marshall Islands, the Arno Atoll is surrounded by three large water bodies, a large one in the middle and two small ones in the north and east. It has a very beautiful pure blue sea water with amazing sea animals for nature lovers.

• Ebeye Island - This is one of the most famous Islands and is located in the Kwajalein Atoll. It is a walk chain of archipelago where you can capture the most beautiful view of sunset.

• Bokolap Islands - This is recommended for a peaceful and relaxing experience. The island offers a handful of luxurious spas, glorious hotels and resorts.

• Bikini Atoll - known for its stunning lagoon which has all the scenic beauty and mesmerizing sights. This is a place where the nuclear weapons are tested and thus if you want to grab some interesting views and knowledge, you must go to this awesome place.

• Majuro Bridge - This huge bridge is an architectural masterpiece, and it offers a view of the entire Marshall Islands. The bridge is located in the capital city of the Marshall Island, Majuro, and cruises and boats sailing under the bridge offers a pleasant view of the bridge for tourists and visitors.
