  • Traveling to Malaysia for visit and leisure requires a tourist visa.
  • Most nationalities are exempt from tourist visas, but for Nigerians, visa is required.
  • Malaysia tourist visa can be for single or multiple entry and the visa holder is entitled to stay up to 30 days for each visit to Malaysia.
  • As a tourist, you are offered 3 types of Malaysia tourist visa but your eligibility will vary based on various factors.
  • The different types of Malaysia tourist visas are:
    • Malaysia eNTRI visa
    • 30 days single entry visa
    • 30 days multiple entry visas
  • Only the single-entry 30-day visa is available to Nigerians. The Malaysian e-Visa is also not available to Nigerians at this time.
  • As the name suggests, you get to enter Malaysia a single time on this visa, and you are eligible to stay in the country for a period of 30 calendar days from entry.
  • Visa on arrival (VOA) is no longer issued in Malaysia except for nationals of the People’s Republic of China and India.
  • The applicant must show proof of sufficient funds for staying in Malaysia.
  • In summary, anybody intending to visit Malaysia should fulfill the following conditions:
    • Every person entering Malaysia must possess a valid national passport or an internationally recognized Travel Document valid for travelling to Malaysia.
    • Any person not in possession of a passport or travel document which is recognized by the Malaysian Government must obtain a Document in lieu of Passport.
    • An application for the Document in lieu of Passport can be made at any Malaysian Representative Office abroad.
    • Holders of Travel Documents such as Certificate of Identity, Laisser Passer, Titre de Voyage, Permanent Residence Certificate must ensure that their passage to the country of origin is assured.
    • The documents must be valid, for more than six (6) months from the date of entry.

Tourist Visa from Nigeria to Malaysia Requirements

  • A Nigerian passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
  • Credit/debit card or PayPal account for payment.
  • Duly completed and signed visa application form.
  • If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
  • Passport-size photographs (3.5×4.5 cm in dimension) taken on white background.
  • Travel document.
  • Proof of financial support.
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Copy of return flight ticket with e-Ticket Number.
  • Documentation showing applicant’s ties to the home country, e.g. verification from the applicant’s employer.
  • A police report showing the traveler does not have a criminal record.
  • Medical Insurance.
  • Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.
  • Copy of travel itinerary.
  • If staying with a friend/relative, you must provide a cover letter that includes the address and ID of the person.
