A visitor’s visa is required for tourist visits to Jamaica. The first step to securing your tourist visa is preparing your visa application and submitting to the Jamaican embassy nearest to you. Your visa application will take roughly one to two weeks to be processed. While no vaccinations may be required to enter the country, you should still check with the CDC on their recommended vaccinations for travel to Jamaica. Your departure tax is regularly included in the airfare. You won’t be charged an exit tax on your way out. A letter of invitation from your host in Jamaica is required. The letter must state the relationship between the applicant and the host and contain the valid contact information of the host. You can attend festivals and events during your time in the country. If you are under the age of 18 years, you are expected to be in possession of the original copy of your birth certificate. A notarized consent signed by both your parents should also be provided. Holders of this visa are not allowed to be gainfully employed during their time in the country. All applicants are required to provide proof of the incentive of returning to their home country at the expiry of this visa. Proof of payment of visa application fee must be shown .
