Nigerians are allowed apply for the Indonesian tourist visa if they plan to visit Indonesia for tourism purposes. The Indonesian tourist visa is valid for 30 days and extendable for another 30 days. The immigration officer at the port of entry may ask the passenger to produce any necessary documents (such as hotel reservation and proof of finance). Passengers transiting through Indonesia for less than 24 hours do not require a transit visa. For foreigners who are currently employed, you are required to provide an employment letter. The letter must: Provide your vacation dates from work. State that you are traveling strictly for tourism reasons. Foreigners carry amount up to 100,000,000 Indonesian rupiah (approx. $7,500 USD) must have it declared at entry. A foreigner is required to have 20 -25 USD per day to cover entire stay in Indonesia. In the case of overstaying your visa you are required to pay a fine. For each day you overstay you will have to pay a penalty IDR 1,000,000 per day.  The Indonesia visa is counted per day, not per night. Your first day and last day are included in the 30 day calculation. Even if you enter Indonesia at 23:55h (11:55pm), the last 5 minutes before midnight will still be considered a full day. The same for your departure. Entry requirements are subject to change at the discretion of Indonesian immigration authorities. If you overstay your visa, you are subject to a fine of 1 million Indonesian rupiah (approximately $70 USD ) per day. You might also be detained and deported.  Credit card fraud is a serious and growing problem in Indonesia. Avoid using credit cards when possible. Use a reputable taxi company or hire a taxi either at a major hotel or shopping center. If you violate local laws, even unknowingly, you may be expelled, arrested, or imprisoned. Criminal cases can take months or even years to resolve, and suspects can be held without charges for up to 60 days, and in many cases longer.  If you are convicted of possession, use, or trafficking of illegal drugs in Indonesia, you may be subject to heavy fines, long jail sentences, and even the death penalty.

Nigerians traveling to Indonesia for business are allowed to apply for a business visa. A business visa in Indonesia is valid for one year, and it allows a foreigner to stay in Indonesia for up to 60 days per visit. Therefore, a business visa is perfect for frequent visitors. You must provide an original Business Introduction Letter from your Nigerian employer. All letters must be printed on company letterhead. The letter must: Be less than one month old. Include the applicant's position. Include the signatory's position. Include the dates of leave and dates of return to work. Include the applicant's start date at the company. Be typed and signed in the original by the applicant's supervisor or their HR department. Foreigners are required to provide proof of financial means. This must be provided as a copy of a recent non-online current account bank statement showing a minimum credit balance of £1,000 having been issued no more than one month prior to visa submission. All business visas must be sponsored by a legal entity registered in Indonesia. Foreign and locally owned companies as well as representative offices can act as sponsor. This visa forbids any form of employment. You are not allowed to get paid in Indonesia with this visa. Details of travel arrangements must be provided. These must include: A copy of the hotel confirmation showing applicant's name. A copy of the flight confirmation showing onward/return travel.
