Tourist Visa from Nigeria to India
- Nigerians can apply for the Indian tourist visa if they plan to visit India for tourism purposes.
- Asides recreation, sight seeing, casual visits to meet friends and relatives, no other activities are permissible on a tourist visa.
- This visa is valid for six month and is not extendable.
- The following persons are not eligible to apply for a tourist visa and must apply for the Entry Visa instead:
- Person of Indian origin.
- Spouse and children of a person of Indian origin.
- Spouse and dependent family members of a foreign national coming to India on a long-term visa.
- Oral polio vaccination/IPV only for residents of seven polio-affected countries including Nigeria is a mandatory requirement for visiting India.
- The possession of satellite phones is prohibited in India.
- If you overstay your Indian visa, or otherwise violate Indian visa regulations, you may require clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs in order to leave the country.
- You are urged to obey such curfews and travel restrictions and to avoid demonstrations and rallies as they have the potential for violence.
- Trekking expeditions should be limited to routes identified for this purpose by local authorities. Use only registered trekking agencies, porters, and guides, suspend trekking after dark, camp at designated camping places, and travel in groups rather than individually or with one or two companions.
- India has the third largest rail network in the world, and train travel in India generally is safe.
- You should exercise care when hiring transportation and/or guides and use only well-known travel agents to book trips.
- If your passport is stolen, you should immediately report the theft or loss to the police in the location where your passport was stolen. A FIR is required by the Indian government in order for you to obtain an exit visa to leave India if the lost passport contained your Indian visa
