India is the 7th largest country in the world with its capital city in New Delhi. India experiences at least three seasons in a year, summer, rainy season (monsoon) and winter. The best time to visit is between October and March when the monsoon rains have stopped and the country is largely warm and dry. For public transport, you can use trains, buses, taxis, motorbikes, car rentals and rickshaws. India is generally safe to visit and petty theft is common in some crowded tourist areas.
There are many exciting and colorful festivals celebrated in India, which reflect the rich culture of the people. Festivals you can attend whenever you are in India are the Holi- the spring festival, Diwali, Pushkar Mela, Dussehra and Navratri.

· Periyar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary: this beautiful park is home to various species of mammals, a large Indian elephant population that roams free, wild boar, otters, the lion tailed macaque, and more than 20 Bengal tigers. · Ellora Caves: this famous monumental Ellora Caves has a great collection of 34 carved monasteries, chapels and temples.
· Bandhavgarh National Park: here, you will find wildlife in its habitat, expect to see leopards, barking deer, sloth bears, hyenas, Indian bison and wolves.
