Work Visa from Laos to China
- Laotians visiting China for a paid job offer can apply for Chinese work visa or Z visa.
- Laotians with Z visa can stay for a duration of 30 days from the date of arrival in China until a Temporary Residence Permit is gotten to cover the duration of the contract signed by the employer.
- Z visa is a single entry visa valid for a minimum of 90 days and a maximum of 5 years depending on the temporary residence permit.
- Laotians with Z visa can stay for a duration of 30 days from the date of arrival in China until a Temporary Residence Permit is gotten to cover the duration of the contract signed by the employer.
- Z visa is a single entry visa valid for a minimum of 90 days and a maximum of 5 year depending on the temporary residence permit issued to you.
- Laotians within the age of 18-60 years are the ones allowed to apply for Z visa.
- Laotians visiting China must have the following documents:
- A valid passport with at least six months validity period and a blank visa page.
- A recently taken passport photo attached to the visa application form.
- An accurate and complete China work visa application form.
- A foreigner work permit issued by the ministry of human resources and social security of the PRC to be issued by the employer.
- An authenticated medical form and a criminal history check on a case-by-case basis.

Student Visa from Laos to China
- Laotians traveling to China for study or fieldwork can apply for a student visa.
- China student visa has 2 sub-types which are:
- X1 visa: This is a long-term study visa with a validity period of more than 180 days.
- X2 Visa: This is a short term study visa with a validity period of less than 180 days.
- Laotians applying for China student visa must have been offered admission into an institution in china.
- Laotians applying for China student visa must have the following documents:
- A valid passport with a validity period of six months and a blank page.
- A complete and accurate China student visa application form.
- A recently taken coloured passport photo.
- An original copy of your admission letter from the Chinese school.
- An original and a copy of JW201 OR JW202 student visa application form.
- Laotians can apply for China student visa or X visa at the consular office of the Chinese embassies or China visa application centers (CVASC).
- X1 student visa holder can apply for a Temporary residence permit from the local exit and entry administration within 30 days upon entry into China, the temporary residence permit is issued with a validity period of 5 years.
- Laotians X visa holder with temporary residence permit can travel in and out of the mainland of China.
- X1 visa holders after completing their study year in China should go to the local entry and exit administration to cancel the temporary residence permit given to them and apply for a 30-days tourist visa with zero entry to avoid problems.
- X2 visa holders may stay in China for the duration period as indicated on their visa and it is not necessary they apply for the temporary residence permit.
- X2 visa holder who wish to extend their stay in China can go to the Entry and Exit Administration 30 days before the expiry of their visa.
- Foreigners with X visa are not permitted to work with the visa type, but part time jobs or internships may be authorized. Foreigners who violate the rules will be punished or expelled.

Business Visa from Laos to China
- China business visa or M visa is a visa issued to foreigners visiting China for business or trade activities.
- Laotians visiting China on business visa or M visa can visit clients, attend business meetings, conferences and trade fairs; the validity period of the visa is 3 months and it duration of stay is 30 days or more depending on the traveler's purpose of visit.
- A valid passport with six month validity period, more than one blank visa page and a copy of the travel information page is required.
- A china business invitation letter is required, the letter can be one of the following:
- An invitation letter issued by a Chinese business partner.
- An invitation letter to a trade fair.
- An invitation letter issued by a duly authorized Chinese institutes.
- The business invitation letter should include the following:
- Your full name, date of birth, passport number and other necessary travel information.
- Information about your arrival and departure date, purpose of visit, places to be visited.
- Information about your Inviter; name, address, contact, signature and official stamp.
- A bank statement is required to show proof of sufficient fund to cover stay period in China.
- A complete typewritten China business visa application form with a recently taken colour photo is needed.

Tourist Visa from Laos to China
- Laotians visiting China for vacation, sight-seeing or tourism can apply for Chinese tourist visa or L visa.
- Chinese tourist visa (L visa) is a visa that is valid for a duration of 30 days or 60 days on request at the embassy,
- Passport with a validity date of 6 months, available blank pages and a photocopy of passport's data page are required.
- Laotians travelling with an organized tour group are expected to supply their details to the travel agency beforehand as they might not need an individual visa as the tour group will be issued a group tour visa bearing all the members name.
- If travelling independently, you will need a valid visa.
- A recent passport size colour photo with a white background should be attached to the application form.
- Documents showing proof of round trip ticket booking and proof of hotel reservation are required.
- Laotians invited to China are required to submit an invitation letter issued by the inviter, showing the necessary information of both the inviter and the invitee.
- Travelers who wish to extend their tourist visa (L visa) can apply for an extension of stay at the local exit and entry admission of China 7 days before the expiry of their L visa.
- A proof of legal stay or residence status is required for those not applying in their country of citizenship.
