General Requirements for Switzerland Visa
  • Passport with a validity of at least 3 months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have at least two blank pages for the necessary stamp.
  • Duly completed visa application form signed by the applicant.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application.
  • Original copy of bank statement from the past three months prior to the period of visa application. This is proof of a steady and continuous flow of funds.
  • Travel insurance which has sufficient medical coverage. The insurance should be valid for the duration of your stay in the country.
  • Proof of civil status.
  • Proof of accommodation for the period you will be staying in the country.
  • Copy of return flight ticket.

Eligibility

  • Applicants of this visa are foreign nationals who have the intention of visiting Switzerland for leisure and tourism.
  • This visa allows you to honor an invitation from your friend or relative who holds permanent residence in Switzerland.
  • An official invitation letter from your host in Switzerland is required. The letter must contain your name and date of birth as it appears on your passport. The purpose and duration of the visit must also be stated in the letter.
  • Your host should provide a copy of his/her Swiss residence permit.
  • Applicants who are employed are required to be in possession of a letter from their employer. The letter must state the applicant’s job position, salary level, and length of employment.
  • Foreigners are not permitted to engage in business activities during their time in the country.
  • Non-Nigerians residing in Nigeria are required to provide a copy of their Nigerian residence permit.
  • Minors traveling with one or none of their parents are required to present a copy of their birth certificate and a notarized consent signed by both their parents.
  • Presenting fake or forged documents during the visa application will make you ineligible for this visa.

Switzerland Business visa

  • This visa is issued to foreigners who are traveling to Switzerland to engage in business activities during their time in the country.
  • Holders of this visa can negotiate and sign contracts business contracts with their partners during business meetings.
  • Applicants of this visa can attend trade fairs, conferences, and business seminars during their time in the country.
  • Proof of registration of conferences to be attended by the applicant should be provided during the visa application.
  • A letter of invitation from the inviting company in Switzerland stating the duration and purpose of the applicant’s visit is required.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer in Nigeria should be provided. The letter should introduce the applicant and confirming continuing employment after the duration of the applicant’s business leave.
  • Non-Nigerians applying for this visa from Nigeria are required to present a copy of their Nigerian residence permit.
  • Both original and photocopies of all the required documents should be provided during the visa application.

Switzerland Medical visa

Eligibility

  • The Medical Visa is issued to citizens of Nigeria who are traveling to Switzerland to seek and receive medical treatment.
  • A medical report from the applicant’s local physician should be provided. The report should state the treatment needed by the applicant and the reason the treatment will be best gotten in the country.
  • A letter from the receiving medical institution in Switzerland stating willingness to treat the applicant is required.
  • Any other correspondence between the receiving and sending medical institution should be provided.
  • Proof that the applicant can pay the medical fee and any other extra fee that may arise is required.
  • Minors applying for this visa are required to be in possession of the original copy of their birth certificate.
  • You are expected to provide a letter from your employer confirming awareness and allowance of your business leave.
  • Submitting fake or forged document will result in you being denied this visa. You are also likely to be prosecuted for this.

  • Applicants of the Student Visa are those who have been offered admission to study a course in an academic institution in the country.
  • The original letter of admission from the institution that the applicant has been accepted to should be presented during the visa application.
  • You are required to be in possession of the receipt of the tuition fee paid to the institution in Switzerland.
  • A copy of the original IELTS test result or TOEFL test result should be provided.
  • An original guarantee letter explaining the details of the applicant’s financial situation is required.
  • Minors applying for this visa should ensure they are in possession of the original and two extra copies of their birth certificate.
  • You are required to present two copies of your curriculum vitae during the visa application.
  • Applicants of this visa are required to present original certificates they obtain from the schools they attended previously.
  • All the documents to be submitted must be in English or a Swiss official language.

Switzerland Work visa

  • This visa is issued to foreign nationals who have been offered employment by an employer in Switzerland.
  • The employment contract signed by both the employer and employee should be provided. The letter must state the job position offered to the applicant and the duration of employment.
  • Your prospective employer in Switzerland must file the application for a work permit at the responsible Office of Migration in Switzerland.
  • An authorization letter from the Cantonal Migration Authority should be provided.
  • You are expected to declare your arrival at the Foreigners Police or Town Registrar within the first 8 days of your arrival.
  • Proof that there was no Swiss national qualified to take up the job that you were offered is required.
  • A copy of your curriculum vitae should be provided.
  • Non-Nigerians are required to provide a copy of their residence permit.

Switzerland Transit visa

  • Foreigners applying for this visa have the intention of transiting through Switzerland to their destination country.
  • This visa allows you to board a connecting flight from an airport in Switzerland to your destination country.
  • You are required to be in possession of the visa and other entry permits of your destination country.
  • Flight ticket of the destination country should be provided.
  • During your time in the country, you are not allowed to engage in business activities.
  • Applicants who are under the age of 18 years should provide a copy of their birth certificate. If they are traveling with one or none of their parents, a letter of consent signed by both their parents is required.
  • Proof of payment of visa fee is required.
  • You are expected to leave Switzerland on or before this visa expires.
