General Requirements for Portugal Visa
  • Passport with a validity of at least 3 months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have at least two blank pages for the necessary stamp.
  • Duly completed visa application form signed by the applicant.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application.
  • Original copy of bank statement from the past three months prior to the period of visa application. This is proof of steady and continuous flow of funds.
  • Travel insurance which has sufficient medical coverage. The insurance should be valid for the duration of your stay in the country.
  • Proof of civil status.
  • Proof of accommodation for the period you will be staying in the country.
  • Copy of return flight ticket.
  • Travel itinerary.

Portugal Tourist visa

Eligibility

  • This visa is issued to citizens of Nigeria traveling to Portugal for the purpose of sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation.
  • This visa also allows foreigners visit their friends or relations who hold permanent residence in the country.
  • Applicants of this visa who are visiting someone in Portugal are required to submit a letter of invitation from their host.
  • If you are employed, a letter from your employer should be provided. The letter must be printed on the company’s letterhead and must confirm the awareness of your leave.
  • Minors should ensure they are I possession of the original copy of their birth certificate while applying for this visa. If they are traveling without a parent, a notarized consent signed by both their parents is required.
  • Non-Nigerians applying for this visa should provide evidence of legal stay in Nigeria.
  • Holders of this visa are not allowed to engage in business activities during their time in the country.
  • A cover letter which states in details the purpose of your visit to Portugal should be provided.

Portugal Business visa

Eligibility

  • Eligible applicants of the Business Visa are businessmen ad businesswomen traveling to Portugal to engage in business activities.
  • During business meetings with business partners in the country, you are allowed to e involved in the negotiation and signing of business contracts.
  • This visa allows foreign nationals to attend and participate in trade fairs, conferences, and business seminars in the country.
  • If you will be attending a conference while you are in Portugal, proof of registration and payment for the conference is required.
  • An official letter of invitation from the inviting company in Portugal is required. The letter must state the duration and purpose of the applicant’s visit.
  • The business letter must also state who will bear the cost of the applicant’s finances during his/her time in the country.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer in Nigeria stating the applicant’s job position, salary level and length of employment should be provided.
  • Proof of previous business dealings between the host company and the sponsoring company should be provided, if any.
  • Non-Nigerians should ensure they are in possession of a copy of their Nigerian residence permit.
  • You are not allowed to receive payment for the services you render in Portugal.

Portugal Medical visa

Eligibility

  • This visa is issued to foreign nationals traveling to Portugal for the purpose of seeking and receiving medical treatment.
  • A medical diagnosis from the applicant’s doctor in Nigeria should be provided. The diagnosis should state in detail the nature of the applicant’s illness.
  • A letter from the receiving medical institution in Portugal stating willingness to treat the applicant is required.
  • Any other correspondence between the medical institutions in Nigeria and Portugal should be provided.
  • Applicants of this visa are required to provide proof that they can pay the medical bill and any other cost that may arise.
  • If the applicant of this visa is a minor, the unabridged copy of the minor’s birth certificate is required.
  • Non-Nigerians applying for this visa should ensure they are in possession of their Nigerian residence permit.
  • You are expected to leave the country on or before this visa expires.

Portugal Student visa

  • This visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of studying in any of the academic institutions in Portugal.
  • Before initiating the visa application process, intending students should ensure confirm that they have been accepted in an institution in Portugal.
  • A letter of acceptance from the institution in Portugal should be provided. The letter must be printed on the institution’s letterhead and must state the course the applicant will be studying.
  • Applicants of this visa should be in possession of certificates and transcripts they obtained from the schools they previously attended.
  • Proof that the applicant can pay the tuition fee and any extra fee during their time in Portugal is required.
  • Minors applying for this visa type are required to submit the original copy of their birth certificate.
  • Non-Nigerians should provide evidence of legal residence in Nigeria.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee is required.

Portugal Transit visa

Eligibility

  • Applicants of this visa have the intention of transiting through Portugal to their destination country.
  • This visa allows you to board a connecting flight from an airport in Portugal to your destination country.
  • You are required to be in possession of the visa and other entry permits of your destination country.
  • Flight ticket of the destination country should be provided.
  • During your time in the country, you are not allowed to engage in business activities.
  • Applicants who are under the age of 18 years should provide a copy of their birth certificate. If they are traveling with one or none of their parents, a letter of consent signed by both their parents is required.
  • Proof of payment of visa fee is required.
  • You are expected to leave Portugal on or before this visa expires.
