General Requirements for Germany Visa
  • Passport with a validity of more than 6 months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have at least two blank pages for the necessary stamps.

Eligibility

  • This visa is issued to Nigerians who have the intention of visiting Germany for sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation.
  • Foreign nationals who also want to visit their friends or relatives in the country are also eligible to apply for this visa.
  • A copy of the guarantor’s form issued by the appropriate authority in Germany and signed by the inviting friend or relative is required.
  • A copy of your host’s passport and page with residence permit should be provided.
  • Applicants of this visa who are employed are required to present a letter from their employer. The letter must introduce the applicant and also confirm awareness of the applicant’s leave.
  • If self-employed, a Certificate of Incorporation of the business or company should be provided. The company’s bank statement from the past three months is required.
  • Visa applications of minors will only be possible if accompanied by a person entitled to custody.
  • Minors should provide the original copy of their birth certificate, as well as a notarized consent signed by both parents of the minor.
  • If your application is incomplete, you will not be granted this visa.
  • Non-Nigerians residing in Nigeria should ensure that they are in possession of their Nigerian residence permit.

Eligibility

  • This visa is issued to business travelers who have the intention of engaging in business activities during their time in Germany.
  • Applicants of this visa who are visiting Germany for the purpose of attending courses, training, and cultural events are also eligible for this visa.
  • Importers of used cars, spare parts, and electronic goods can also apply for this visa type.
  • Your application will only be accepted when you have all the necessary documents required by the embassy.
  • A letter of invitation from the German company a business traveler will be visiting is required. The letter must not be older than 3 months.
  • If you will be attending a trade fair, conference, training, or cultural event in the country, an invitation for the respective purpose should be provided.
  • A letter from your employer in Nigeria is required. The letter must state the applicant’s job position and salary level.
  • Proof of previous and current business transactions between the companies involved should be provided.
  • Exporters of precious stones should be in possession of their license to possess or purchase minerals.
  • Minors should ensure they are in possession of the original copy of their birth certificate.

  • The Medical Visa is issued to foreign nationals who have the intention of seeking and receiving medical treatment in the country.
  • A medical certificate issued by the treating medical institution in Nigeria detailing the nature of the applicant’s illness and the reason treatment will be best gotten in Germany is required.
  • A written confirmation of the applicant’s appointment with the medical doctor in Germany should be provided.
  • The estimated duration of the treatment of the applicant’s illness should be stated in the letter from the medical doctor in Germany.
  • Proof of advance payment of the medical fee is required.
  • Applicants with incomplete applications will be refused this visa.
  • If the applicant is employed, a letter from the applicant’s employer is required. The letter should introduce the applicant and state confirmation of leave.
  • Visa applications of minors are possible only if accompanied by a person entitled to custody.
  • Minors are expected to present a copy of their birth certificate during the visa application process. A consent letter from both parents is also required.

  • Applicants of this visa are foreigners who have the intention of studying in any of the academic institutions in the country.
  • A letter of admission to the university you have been accepted is required.
  • Proof of knowledge of the German language is required, if applicable.
  • Applicants are required to submit their Primary and Secondary School Leaving Certificates.
  • Proof of previous academic studies, professional training, or work experience should be provided, if applicable.
  • You are expected to provide to present your birth certificate from the National Population Commission.
  • Minors are required to provide a letter of consent from their parents for their studies in Germany. It should be accompanied by a copy of the passport of the signing parents.
  • Proof of financial sustainability for the duration of your study in Germany.

  • The Work Visa is issued to foreigners who have been offered employment by an employer in the country.
  • Your work contract with the German company should be provided. The contract should include your job position, salary level, and length of employment.
  • Consent of the German Federal Employment Agency must be obtained by the applicant before initiating the visa application process.
  • Proof of previous academic studies, professional training, or work experience should be provided.
  • Applicants of this visa are required to present old documents such as, vaccination card, library card, etc. which verifies their identity.
  • A copy of your Curriculum Vitae or resume is required.
  • You are required to be in possession of a copy of your birth certificate from the National Population Commission.
  • Applicants of this visa should note that their visa application will be rejected if their application is incomplete.

Germany Transit visa
