General Requirements for France Visa
  • A Nigerian passport with a validity of more than 6 months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have at least two blank pages for the necessary stamp.
  • Correctly completed visa application form duly signed by the applicant.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application.
  • Bank statement from the past three months prior to the period of visa application. This is proof of a steady and continuous flow of funds.
  • Travel insurance which has sufficient medical coverage. The insurance should be valid for the duration of your stay in the country.
  • Proof of civil status.
  • Proof of accommodation for the period you will be staying in the country.
  • Copy of return flight ticket.
  • Copy of travel itinerary.
  • Applicants are to provide proof of the paid visa application fee.
  • The parents/legal guardians have to sign the form if the applicant is a minor.
  • A police report showing the traveler does not have a criminal record.
  • Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.
  • Documentation showing applicant’s ties to their home country.
  • Medical insurance that covers the duration of stay.

France Tourist visa

Eligibility

  • Foreigners applying for this visa are traveling to France for leisure and tourism for a short period of time.
  • You can visit your friends and relatives residing in the country on this visa.
  • If you have the intention of visiting someone in the country, a letter of invitation from your host should be provided.
  • Applicants of this visa who want to consult a doctor or clinic, or receive treatment in a hospital in France can also apply for this visa.
  • A written document from the medical institution in France willing to take up the applicant’s treatment is required.
  • A medical diagnosis from the applicant’s local physician in Nigeria stating the nature of the applicant’s illness and the reason treatment will be best gotten in France should be provided.
  • If employed, a letter from your employer is required. The letter must introduce the applicant and state awareness of the applicant’s leave.
  • Holders of this visa are not allowed to engage in professional activities during their time in the country.
  • Minors applying for this visa are required to provide the original copy of their birth certificate. A letter of consent signed by both parents of the minor should also be provided.

France Business visa

Eligibility

  • This visa is issued to foreign nationals traveling to France with the intention of engaging in professional activities.
  • Eligible applicants of this visa are business travelers, seasonal workers, foreigners involved in teaching activities, models, medical practitioners, airline crew, and interns.
  • Applicants of this visa who have the intention of attending or participating in trade fairs, seminars, or conferences related to their professional activity can apply for this visa.
  • Foreigners replying to invitations from their partners in France are also eligible for this visa type.
  • An official letter of invitation from your partner in France should be provided. The letter must state the nature of the business to be carried out and the duration of the business trip.
  • The letter from the host company must state if the company will be responsible for the applicant’s finances in the country.
  • Admission cards to trade fairs or conferences must be provided.
  • You can apply for this visa if you want to create or participate in a commercial, industrial, artisanal or agricultural activities or work in a liberal profession in France.
  • Foreigners who intend setting up a new business in France must be able to demonstrate the economic viability of their project.
  • This visa allows you to complete a one-off mission in a French company in order to provide a service to a French client. The one-off mission may include audit, management, finance, insurance, architecture, and engineering.

France Student visa

Eligibility

  • This visa is issued to foreign nationals who have the intention of studying in any of the academic institutions in the country.
  • Before initiating the visa application process, ensure that you have been accepted into the institution of your choice.
  • Applicants of this visa must not be less than 18 years of age.
  • A certificate of enrolment from the institution that has accepted you should be provided. It should state the course the applicant will be studying and the duration of the applicant’s study.
  • Foreigners who intend to study a specialization in France by working as a medical intern during the duration of their studies are eligible to apply for this visa.
  • A copy of the certificates and transcripts obtained from the schools previously attended by applicants is required.
  • Minors applying for this visa are required to be in possession of the original copy of their birth certificate.
  • This visa covers the duration of the applicant’s study.

France Student Trainee

Eligibility

  • This visa is issued to Nigerians who want to do a professional work placement in France.
  • The projects to be carried out by the student must be part of a training course organized in Nigeria.
  • If the duration of your work placement exceeds 90 days, you will be issued a long-stay visa.
  • An agreement must first be validated by the French authorities following a request from your host if the duration of the work placement lasts more than 90 days.
  • Proof that the applicant will be paid the equivalent of the basic monthly allowance paid to French Government scholarship holders.
  • Interns taking part in a European Union cooperation program or an intergovernmental scheme do not need to prove their financial resources.
  • You are expected to leave the country at the expiry of this visa.
  • Proof of payment of visa application is required.

France Au Pair

Eligibility

  • This visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of staying in France temporarily with a family in order to study French.
  • Applicants of this visa must be between the age of 18 and 30 years.
  • Foreigners must have an au pair placement agreement setting out their working conditions.
  • You must have basic knowledge of the French language.
  • Applicants of this visa must be educated to the secondary school level or have professional qualifications.
  • A residence permit will be issued to foreigners which will be subject to formalities upon the applicant’s arrival in France.
  • This visa is issued for one year. Your stay as an au pair can be extended to two years.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee is required.

France Transit visa

Eligibility

  • This visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of transiting through France to their destination country.
  • You must remain in the airport’s international zone while waiting for the transfer to your flight destination.
  • Visa and other entry permits to your destination country is required.
  • Flight ticket of the destination country should be provided.
  • There are three types of airport transit visa; a one-way ATV, a return ATV, and a multiple ATV.
  • Holders of this visa are not allowed to work or be enrolled in any of the academic institutions in the country.
  • Minors applying for this visa are required to be in possession of the original copy of their birth certificate.
  • You are expected to leave this visa on or before this visa expires.
