General Requirements for Egypt Visa
  • An original international Passport that is valid till the next six months with at least two blank pages for necessary stamps.
  • One visa application form duly filled and signed by the applicant.
  • Two passport photos with a white background.
  • A visa requisition letter from employer.
  • Proof of accommodation/hotel booking.
  • Confirmed onward or return Air Ticket.
  • Bank statements of the past six months with sufficient fund.
  • Salary slips for the last three months.

Egypt Tourist visa

Eligibility

  • This is the type of visa issued to persons who want to visit family members, relatives and friends in Egypt from Nigeria.
  • Both single and multiple entry Egypt tourist visas are valid for up to 3 months.
  • If you desire to visit Egypt for other purposes, consider applying for any other types of Egypt. 
  • It is possible to attend business meetings while on a tourist visa, but all activities must fall within three months duration.
  • You cannot reside permanently in Egypt with the tourist visa or take up a paid work.
  • Also, on no account should you remain in Egypt after the expiration of your visa. This is a big offense.
  • Be careful when filling your application form. The information you provide must tally with what you have on your supporting documents.
  • Your passport must be on a white background and capture the entirety of your face.
  • An invitation letter is important if you have a friend, family or business partner in Egypt.
  • The letter should state your relationship with the person and when you will visit and depart from Egypt.

Egypt Work visa

Eligibility

  • Unlike countries with a separate work visa category, foreigners who intend to work in Egypt must simply apply for a work permit.
  • The application process may be rigorous and time-consuming.
  • The first step of applying for an Egyptian work permit is obtaining the application form from the nearest Ministry of Manpower and Training Office.
  • Because work permit applications require the participation of the foreigner's employer, it is not possible to obtain a work permit without a solid job offer from an employer in Egypt.
  • Your employer will need to submit a memorandum explaining why it is necessary to hire a foreigner rather than a qualified Egyptian citizen.
  • A copy of test showing you are free of HIV/AIDs is also needed.
  • Another essential item is an approval from Egypt’s State Security Service showing that you are not a threat to national security or public safety.
  • This can be obtained through a division at the Ministry of Manpower and Training office.
  • Finally, you will need to pay a registration fee of about $60 to complete the process.

Eligibility

  • Egypt student visa is awarded to international students who want to stay in Egypt for the purpose of study.
  • This visa is usually valid for six months.
  • If you desire to study in Egypt, you must carry a genuine passport or travel document with validity of a minimum of one year.
  • When you secure the student visa, you are not allowed to work with it.
  • Basically, you can only get the Egypt student visa after you have arrived in Egypt. The Egyptian immigration authorities have only established the tourist visa.
  • Hence, you would travel to Egypt with the tourist visa then upgrade to student visa upon your arrival.
  • Egypt is a conservative country where it is a crime to engage in premarital intercourse and homosexuality.
  • School authorities in Egypt also warn students to cover their bodies and take alcohol only at authorized bars.
  • Most universities provide their students with some form of student housing. This may or may not appeal to you, depending on your social habits.
  • But the apartments are fairly conducive to male and female hostels located far away from each other.
  • The cost of living in Cairo is very low compared to Europe or America.
  • Egyptian universities require students to take a HIV test before they arrive.
