T he Afghan tourist visa is issued to foreign nationals who want to visit Afghanistan for tourism , vacation or other recreational purposes . You can also visit family and friends and attend festivals with a tourist visa . You must have a valid Nigerian passport with at least 6 months validity and 2 blank visa pages to travel to Afghanista n. Nigerians applying for th e Afghan tourist visa need to submit a letter of introduction from a family member or host living in Afghanistan. This letter should clearly state the purpose of your travel to Afghanistan, the address and contact details of the host, as well as the applicant’s relationship with them.   To show that you can cater to your financial needs while in Afghanistan, you must provide proof of sufficient financial means such as your most recent bank account statements. You must also provide proof of private accommodation or a copy of your hotel reservation for the duration of your stay in Afghanistan. The Afghan tourist visa is valid for 90 days (that is, you can use the visa within 3 months of its issuing) but only allows a maximum stay of 30 days .   You are advised to exit the country before your visa expires as overstaying your visa may attract penalties . You will have to submit documents that show you have the intention of returning to your country once your visa expires. This proof could be a return ticket to Nigeria or an onward ticket to your next destination. As a tourist in Afghanistan, you are not allowed to work in the country. You must also provide proof that you have paid the visa application fee.

Afghanistan business visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to Afghanistan for business purposes. A visa application form must be fully completed. The application form must be accurately completed as incomplete application forms may delay the processing of your visa application or lead to outright denial. You are required to send 2 recent passport-size photographs (2x2 inches) with your completed visa application form. Your Nigerian passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Afghanistan. You should submit an invitation letter from a partner company in Afghanistan. The letter should state the purpose of your visit, how long you intend to stay in the country and who will be responsible for your expenses while in the country. A business letter from your employer stating your name, your role in the company and the purpose of your travel to Afghanistan should be submitted. You are also required to provide a copy of your most recent bank account statements as proof that you are financially able to cater to your needs while in Afghanistan. Proof of hotel accommodation for the entire duration of your stay in Afghanistan should also be provided. You should note that the visa allows a maximum stay of 30 days and must be used within 3 months of its issuance. If there exists proof of previous business dealings between your company and the partner Afghan company such as bills of lading, receipts of payments for good delivered, you should provide such documents supporting these. The Afghan work visa is required by all Nigerians hoping to travel to Afghanistan to work as an employee. The passport used in the visa application must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure from Afghanistan. Two (2) passport-size photographs (2x2 inches) are required. Proof of accommodation for the duration of your stay in Afghanistan must be provided. Proof of payment of visa application fee should be submitted. Nigerians applying for an Afghan work visa should ensure they have a confirmed job offer from a company or organisation based in Afghanistan. Educational or work experience is required from foreign citizens intending to work in Afghanistan. You must be below the age of retirement (65 years) to apply for the Afghan work visa. The Afghan transit visa allows Nigerians to pass through Afghanistan by land or by air. Your Nigerian passport must be valid for at least 6 months for you to apply for an Afghan transit visa. The transit visa is for one month and allows air travellers to stay for a maximum of 3 days while road travellers can stay for up to 6 days. You must have a valid visa for your next destination from Afghanistan. You must also provide a copy of your onward ticket to your next destination for you to apply for an Afghan transit visa.
