A tourist visa is needed to visit Bangladesh for tourism purposes. The Bangladeshi tourist visa can be single or multiple entry, usually valid for 30 days in a one-year period. The bank statement you submit must show a minimum balance of $1500. Bangladesh does not allow the exchange of local currency (Bangladeshi taka) for U.S. dollars (cash and traveler’s checks) unless the customer has a ticket for travel outside Bangladesh. Citizens of most countries require a valid visa to enter Bangladesh, but the type and category issued is at the embassy’s discretion. Type and category of visa varies according to the purpose of visit, the length of stay and bilateral arrangement with the country of the foreign national. Any change in rules and regulations made by the Government of Bangladesh will apply to issued visas. Your passport must be valid for six months beyond your planned stay in Bangladesh, have at least one blank page, and have a Bangladeshi visa. You must also possess an onward or return ticket.
