Student Visa from Nigeria to Tanzania

  • Student visa is granted to natives of Nigeria who enter the Country for Researches, Interning, Volunteering, EAC Students and exchange students.
  • EAC and Exchange students can apply for a visa at no cost at all. In other words, the visa is free of charge.
  • Prospective Students admitted to recognized and legally registered Institutions can apply for this visa. 
  • It is important that you have been admitted into the institution before you apply for the visa.
  • This visa may be issued for a single entry or multiple entries and is valid for 90 days to 2 years.
  • Issuance of this visa is directed by the Commissioner-General of Immigration and Commissioner of Immigration Zanzibar and is at their discretion.
  • All applicants will be required to present a yellow card issued and signed by a renowned health institution. It serves as proof of yellow fever vaccination.
  • The student visa fees range from 50 USD to 550 USD depending on the category applied for and the duration of stay.
  • Students visiting Tanzania for academic issues for a period of three months are issued a visa which costs 50 USD.
  • If you are traveling for academic reasons but for longer than 3 months, you will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of 250 USD.
  • Students who wish to pursue research activities will pay 550 USD and will be issued a Student Visa for a maximum period of 2 years.
  • Covering letter from the institution/college where the foreign student will study is required.
  • The letter must carry details of the course/field and duration of the program.
  • Applicants must present a recent bank statement or sponsor as proof that they will be able to pay any required bills for the period of the stay.
  • If you need a longer time for the course, then you can apply for a visa extension in the United Kingdom of Tanzania at the Dar es Sallam immigration office.
