Tourist Visa from Nigeria to Tanzania

  • Tanzania tourist visa is also known as an ordinary visa.
  • This visa is granted to individuals for the purposes of Tourism, Leisure, Holiday, visiting friends and relatives.
  • It can also be used to attend conferences, conduct humanitarian and charity activities, Health Treatment or any other purpose as may be determined by the issuing authority.
  • Working, studying or participating in any profit-oriented event is prohibited.
  • The tourist visa is usually issued as Single-entry which allows for only one entry into Tanzania. It is valid for 90 days.
  • Applicants are to apply for their visa online through the Official Tanzania Immigration website (www.immigration.go.tz) only and not through any other link.
  • If you do not include all the necessary documents for the type of visa you are applying for, the application may be rejected.
  • Tourist applicants are to present a copy of their return flight ticket.
  • An invitation letter from your Tanzanian host is required. The letter should state the purpose and duration of the trip.
  • Fulfilling all visa requirements does not guarantee visa issuance. The Tanzania Immigration Services Department may give or withhold reasons for rejection of Visa.
  • Having a visa is not the final authority to enter the United Republic of Tanzania. The Immigration Officer at the Entry point can refuse a holder of visa to enter if he feels that the holder is unable to fulfill Immigration entry requirements or a threat to the country.
  • Individuals must have sorted out their accommodation before applying for the visa as proof of it would be required.
  • From 01/06/2019, the Tanzanian Government banned all applicants from bringing plastic carrier bags into the country. Special desks are designated at entry points of the country to confiscate all plastic bags.
  • However, if the bags carry medical supplies or toiletries then they would be allowed on the condition that they will always be in the applicant’s possession and will not be used to litter the country.
  • Receipt of 50 USD visa fee is required.
  • If you overstay the validity of your visa, or work without an appropriate permit, you will be liable to arrest, detention and a fine before being deported.
